A: What is your first memory of music?
D.T: First memory in music is definitely my father playing jazz records and a lot of funk and also African music. And the first time I made music was because I got a guitar. It was a present. And I started. I was a big fan of the Cure, Joy Division, et cetera. So I was, like, playing songs from these bands.

A: What shaped your music taste?
D.T: The main thing that changed my knowledge and taste in music was listening to radio, really good radio, especially night programs. These amazing programs at night were like monographies or focus about certain artists. It was like Brazilian music, African music, new wave, punk, disco, experimental music. And that's where I learned everything I had. And that's also shaped my taste.

A: How has the music industry changed?
D.T: Attention span is so short. The first cycles, musical cycles, were very long. Now they're getting shorter and shorter because the attention span is short. Your body listens to an apple from start to end anymore, so. But this trend is gonna change, I hope.

A: What is your advice for those dreaming of getting into the music business?
D.T: Don't think about business. That's the main thing in the creative process that you don't have to think about business. Otherwise it's like a compromise in the first place. The best music and the best. For example, in general, the best music you do is when you don't have it. When you enjoy the process without having a destination. That's always the main thing.
