A: Which is the book that you have an emotional connection to?
A.G: So the book I chose for this little, like, interview about me is the Agony and the Ecstasy from Bob Carlos Clark. I actually like it. I’ve never been like a reader. I love photos. I love images. For me, they made so much more sense sometimes than words. And I decided to talk about this book because of my personal work, how all my aesthetics and all my inspiration are coming from intimacy, love, youth, and also sometimes kind of like voyeurism. Yeah, this book illustrates perfectly, like, everything I like. This one is one of my favorites. So when I started to study about Bob Carlos Clark, I read that he had no idea of what he was shooting when he was shooting the photos. Later, when I realized what these events were about, I was torn between parental feelings and the demands of photojournalism. I longed to shout crazy warnings to the doomed parents. For God's sake, don't send your precious baby there. Meanwhile, the professional part of me was willing to queue through the doors of hate and onto the tangled crush of new battle buddies. So basically, he was just walking into the nightclubs, shooting in the dark, and then in the dark room, he realized what he was shooting. So, yeah, only young people are having fun, having sex, kissing, loving. And I don't know, for me, this is what the holiday season is like, just love. So this is what works.

A: Where are you going this holiday season?

A.G: I'm going back to the south of France where my parents are based, and I'm also going to my Italian family in Piemonte. So, yeah, one day in France, one day in Italy. Yeah, I'm half French, half Italian, but I don't speak a word of Italian, so don't ask me to talk. I can only speak English, yeah.
