ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS

Ancient Greek Shoes was founded in 2006 in Cyprus. A footwear brand which draws all of its inspiration from ancient Greek imagery and mythology, particularly the sandal maker who made sandals for the Ancient Greek Gods, and Hermes, who wore winged sandals. The label is the brainchild of Christina Martini who was born and raised in Greece and London-born Nikolas Minoglou who was raised in Greece and studied in the US. In 2006 Nikolas returned to Athens where he decided to take over the family’s well established footwear company, before joining forces with Christina. Sandals are the brand’s main focal point, translated in a contemporary form, locally handmade by skilled craftsmen who use century-old, natural, non-polluting techniques which age beautifully with time.
