PROTOTYPES

German designer Laura Beham and British designer Callum Pidgeon founded Prototypes in 2021. They first crossed paths when they were working for Vetements in Paris and their aim has always been centered around genuine sustainability which according to them involves educating consumers. The Zurich Based brand has never been really interested in following the zeitgeist or trying to interpret what the industry is doing. The concept of the Prototypes is more disruptive: creating garments out of deadstock, uniforms and vintage pieces with an emotional connection. The brand has always referenced football and Callum’s working class roots in all of its collections, as he has always had an unconditional love for the sport. Focus on sustainability is so central to the brand’s philosophy, it distributes downloadable manuals and sewing guides on its website offering knowledge on how to produce your own garments from any piece of old clothing.
