McQ - Alexander McQueen fuses the parent label’s vampish take on romanticism with a laid-back, contemporary and theatrical aesthetic. Launched in 2005, the house’s contemporary unisex label McQ adapts McQueen’s polished, punk-inflected aesthetic into a uniform for today’s youth. The accouterments of bygone subcultural movements, from leather biker jackets and oversized knitwear to high-top sneakers and bomber jackets, are fitted with avant-garde silhouettes, while reconstructed graphic t-shirts, distressed denim jeans, badge-embellished denim jackets, and patchwork logo t-shirts recall the irreverent DIY ethos of myriad youth countercultures.
