Jean Paul Gaultier founded his namesake brand in Paris in 1976. Audacity, irony and irreverence are the most important aspects of the designer’s personality and collections. Gaultier has consistently created in a way that brakes free from conventions about gender and sexuality. In 1996, after 20 years of ready-to-wear, Jean Paul Gaultier made his debut in Haute Couture. In 2020, he performs his last fashion show at the Théâtre du Châtelet, presenting an expression of his career of success and infinite creativity. Jean Paul Gaultier has also collaborated with Glenn Martens, Chitose Abe and Olivier Rousteing in the past few years, Haider Ackermann is the most recent guest designer the brand’s couture collection.
